Mr. Dimitrios Fitsios, PhD candidate in the field of Optical Communications, has been awarded the very prestigious IEEE Photonics Society Graduate Student Fellowship 2014. This fellowship is annually awarded to 10 outstanding graduate students world-wide pursuing graduate education within the Society field of interest. The full-list of the 2014 winners is available online and the awards will be presented at the IEEE Photonics Conference 2014 in San Diego, U.S.A.. It is the first time that a student from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki receives this prestigious award and only the third time for a student from a Greek University in about 15 years since the prize has been established.
