Distinction at the “Open Public Data Hackathon”

Vangelis Banos, PhD candidate of our department, won the 3rd place in the “Open Public Data Hackathon” organized by the Greek Ministry of Administrative Reform and E-Government.

The aim of the hackathon was to reuse open public data to develop novel added-value applications, contributing to the creation of new knowledge and business applications.

Vangelis created an application called “GRGOV Mobile Search”. It is a web application for Android & iOS devices which enables searching the full text of all public data from the following sources:
