Distinction at International Competition organized by the European project BioASQ

Assistant professor Grigorios Tsoumakas and professor Ioannis Vlahavas in collaboration with Atypon, a US company based in California, received the first prize on the large-scale online biomedical semantic indexing challenge organized by the European FP7 research project BioASQ, outweighing teams, such as the National Library of Medicine (NLM), Mayo Clinic and the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).
